- Abstract : Doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)‐based wind power generation system may suffer the stability issue due to high frequency resonance (HFR), when operating in a parallel compensated network. In impedance stability theory, the inappropriate phase margin between DFIG system and network impedance at the intersection of amplitude frequency characteristic curves will cause resonance. This study presents a HFR damping controller based on direct resonant control for DFIG system, and the optimisation for the HFR damping controller is studied. The optimised controller is used in the DFIG system including rotor side converter and grid side converter to improve the capability of suppressing HFR. The proposed control strategy can effectively eliminate the HFR and respond rapidly to the wide dynamic changes of resonance frequency
