- Abstract : Evidence‐Based Answer : In chronic heart failure (HF) with decreased left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) and amino‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic peptide (NT‐proBNP) levels correspond well with response to therapy. BNP‐guided therapies decrease mortality and reduce cardiovascular events, but do not decrease overall hospitalizations (SOR: A, meta‐analysis and subsequent RCT).
