- Abstract : Evidence‐Based Answer : Yes. Universal neonatal hearing screens (UNHS) lead to earlier referral of infants with hearing impairment, resulting in a beneficial effect on language skills (SOR: B, multiple systematic reviews consisting of large numbers of low‐quality studies).
