- Abstract: The purpose of this discussion is to demonstrate how the formula for the wave-induced pipeline scour presented by Cheng et al. (2020) can be extended to random wave-induced pipeline scour. Favorable results are obtained by comparing the stochastic method predictions with the Sumer and Fredsøe (1996) data for pipeline scour beneath random waves plus current.
