Abstract

Abstract: The combination of NHC (NHC=N‐heterocyclic carbene) and pincer framework has received extensive attention. The relevant transition metal complexes have found manifold applications in various areas spanning from catalysis to optical material chemistry. This minireview focuses on the advances in the synthesis, reactivity study and applications of metal pincer NHCs. Abstract : NHCs (NHCs=N‐heterocyclic carbenes) have been incorporated into the very successful pincer frameworks, and the thermal stability, structural versatility and electronic/steric tunability of NHC pincers make such platforms highly appealing. In this minireview, the studies from early 2017 to early 2020 regarding NHC pincers bearing NHCs as the central donors and/or side arms are summarized.
