Abstract

ABSTRACT: This Special Issue examines the structural context of the political economy in the Middle East and North Africa in relation to the civic and political participatory trends of young people today. It is concerned with understanding the extent to which young people influence public policies, social, cultural and economic structures from below, and how they themselves are influenced by these same structures from above. It analyzes the impact of youth agency on social change and continuity in the Middle East and North Africa today.
