Abstract

ABSTRACT: This article reviews the historical development and theoretical underpinnings of sand tray work in counseling and offers a critical examination of the use of sand tray with older adults, exploring both benefits and challenges of the use of this modality with the growing gerontological population. A case example with an older adult client is presented.
