Abstract

Every January, the HIV Netherlands, Australia, Thailand Research Collaboration (HIV-NAT) organizes the symposium that aims to provide physicians and healthcare providers in the Asia––Pacific region with a comprehensive review of the management of HIV infection. This article covers plenary sessions on immune activation in HIV, treatment of special groups such as pregnant women and children, and patients with hepatitis C coinfection. Current ''hot'' topics, such as human papilloma virus/anal cancer and pre-exposure prophylaxis are also discussed. This year the symposium attracted more than 600 participants from 38 different countries.
