Abstract

Abstract : An analytic approach is proposed for estimation of electromagnetic interference (EMI)‐induced phase noise and jitter. The radiated susceptibility of an oscillator implemented on the PCB is defined based on its fundamental specification. Closed‐form expressions are derived for EMI‐added phase noise and jitter on the oscillator output signal. A simple oscillator board is designed and implemented to verify the derivations. The measurement results confirm the accuracy of the proposed method.
