- Abstract: A convenient method for the preparation of 2‐bromo‐1, 1, 2, 2‐tetrafluoroethyl arenes, using commercially available anilines and BrCF2 CF2 Br as starting materials was developed. The reaction proceeded in high efficiency under the irradiation of blue LEDs, and enables the installation of amino and fluoroalkyl moieties. Moreover, the product can be easily transformed to many other 1, 1, 2, 2‐tetrafluoroethylated reagents, thus demonstrating its high potential use for further modifications. Abstract : Readily available : A convenient method for the preparation of 2‐bromo‐1, 1, 2, 2‐tetrafluoroethyl arenes, using commercially available anilines and BrCF2 CF2 Br as starting materials is described. The reaction is highly efficient and proceeds under the blue‐LED irradiation, enabling the installation of amino and fluoroalkyl moieties.
