- Abstract : A multi‐cell joint optimisation problem is analysed to maximise the energy efficiency of the cellular and device‐to‐device (D2D) transmission, subject to a maximum power and signal‐to‐interference‐plus‐noise ratio constraint, under the scenario considering both intra‐cell and inter‐cell interference. On this basis, a multi‐cell joint power control (MCJPC) algorithm is proposed. For simpler implementation and lower coordination overhead, a single‐cell independent power control (SCIPC) algorithm is further proposed. The theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that the proposed MCJPC and SCIPC algorithms can not only achieve higher energy efficiency compared with other typical power control algorithms, but also have good scalability.
