- Abstract: The CO2 absorption–desorption potentials of diethylenetriamine (DETA)+2-amino-2-methyl-1-proponal (AMP) bi–solvent blend were investigated. Absorption temperature and CO2 partial pressure (PCO2 ) was298–333 K and 5–100 kPa, respectively while the desorption temperature was 363 K. The concentrations of DETA and AMP were varied from 0.5–2 kmol/m 3 and 1–2.5 kmol/m 3, respectively with the total concentration of 3 kmol/m 3 . Equilibrium CO2 loading of the blends increased exponentially with PCO2 . The initial rate of absorption and desorption of the blends were higher than 5 kmol/m 3 MEA and the heat duties were much lower than the single MEA.
