- Abstract: The gradient textured plate-like Na0.5 Bi4.5 Ti4 O15 (P-NBT4)/PVDF composites have been realized through tape casting process of layer by layer, which loadings are gradually decreased from bottom layer to top layer. The micro-capacitance formed by P-NBT4 particles and interfacial polarization between layers enables the composites to obtain a high permittivity. In addition, the different electric field of gradient composites will weaken the growth of electric tree between layers, as well as the P-NBT4 ceramic particles in composite films can extend the breakdown path, so that the composites will undergo premature breakdown. By comparing, the large energy storage density (16.41 J/cm 3 ) at the relative low electric field of 350 kV/mm is obtained in the gradient textured composites.
