- Abstract : The Cover Feature picture shows an assembly line as a cartoon for the biocatalytic cascade described in the Communication by S. Gandomkar et al . The racemic alcohol is brought to the conveyor belt on the left side of the picture and then passes the operating station of the first enzyme (PQQ‐DH), which transforms the racemic alcohol to the corresponding ketone. The latter is then transformed further at the second operating station, where it is asymmetrically aminated by a transaminase to the optically pure amine. In the picture a ( R )‐stereoselective transaminase [( R )‐omega‐TA] is in place, nevertheless, it can be exchanged e.g. to an ( S )‐selective enzyme here indicated by the crane. In the background looking out of the window a waterfall is seen, another symbol for a cascade. More information can be found in the Communication by S. Gandomkar et al.
