Abstract

Abstract : The Front Cover shows the two possible tracks that trains can follow at a fork. This rail metaphor illustrates how an intermediate can evolve along two distinct pathways in C(sp2)–Si bond functionalizations via intramolecular activation by alkoxides. Such processes involve the formation of a common cyclic hypervalent silicon intermediate that allows the carbon‐to‐oxygen migration of the organosilyl group and thus the formation of a carbanionic species. The C(sp2)–Si bond cleavage can be either "endocyclic" (Brook rearrangement, right tracks) or "exocyclic"(left tracks). Cover design by Kajetan Bijouard.
