Abstract

Abstract: A simple and efficient visible‐light‐induced tandem cyclization of 1, 6‐enynes with disulfides for the synthesis of functionalized benzofurans was developed. The reaction proceeded smoothly under metal‐free conditions at room temperature in air, providing the desired products in good yields with wide functional group tolerance. Abstract : Into the blue : We have developed a facile synthesis of functionalized benzofurans via visible‐light‐induced tandem cyclization of 1, 6‐enyne with disulfides. The reaction proceeded smoothly in the presence of Mes‐Acr‐Me + ClO4 − as a photocatalyst, in NMP at room temperature under blue LED (450–455 nm) irradiation and an air atmosphere, generating the desired products in good yields. This method proceeds without external metal, with simple reaction conditions and with wide functional group tolerance.
