- Abstract: The reaction of [LGa−GaL] (1 ) (L=dpp‐bian=1, 2‐bis[(2, 6‐diisopropylphenyl)imino]acenaphthene) with 4, 4′‐bipyridine (4, 4‐bipy) results in the formation of complex [L2 (4, 4‐bipy)2 Ga2 ] (2 ). The reaction of 1 with 1, 3‐bis(4‐pyridyl)propane (1, 3‐Py2 (CH2 )3 ) affords 1D coordination polymer [L2 (μ 2 ‐1, 3‐Py2 (CH2 )3 )Ga2 ]n (3 ). Compounds 2 and 3 were characterized by 1 H NMR and IR spectroscopy; their molecular structures were established by single‐crystal X‐ray analysis. Abstract : 1D metal‐organic framework [L2 (μ 2 ‐1, 3‐Py2 (CH2 )3 )Ga2 ]n (3 ) was synthesized by the reaction of digallane [LGa−GaL] (1 ) with 1, 3‐bis(4‐pyridyl)propane. Compound 3 is the first example of main group metal coordination polymer that contains redox active organic ligand besides metal−metal bond.
