- Abstract: Ceramics are considered as a promising pathway to reduce the large amount of continuously produced industrial wastes. This study aims to valorize phosphate mine by-products alongside with fly ashes to produce fired bricks. Different mixes containing up to 30% of fly ashes were prepared, molded and sintered at 1100 °C. The sintered ceramics and raw materials were characterized to inspect their mineralogical, physicochemical, mechanical and microstructural properties. The results showed that good ceramic samples could be obtained when 90% of clays by-products are mixed with 10% of fly ashes, reaching a compressive strength as high as 98 MPa.
