Abstract

Feeding difficulties in infants are a common initial and persistent presentation to primary care. They can pose a diagnostic dilemma, as there is an overlap between physiological and pathological presentations, vague symptoms, limited examination findings and investigations. Formulating acceptable management plans can be challenging, due to the trial-and-error nature of interventions and parental anxiety and expectations. This article will discuss red flag features, common differential diagnoses and their management.
