- Abstract : On catalysis of AlCl3, kaolinite can be facily exfoliated into nanosheets, which subsequently curl into nanoscrolls. Abstract : The conventional approach to exfoliate kaolinite to form aluminosilicate nanoscrolls is very time-consuming. Herein, we report a novel method to prepare aluminosilicate nanoscrolls from kaolinite by catalysis of AlCl3 under mild conditions. This method is highly efficient, environmentally friendly, and can be easily scaled up for mass production.
