Abstract

Abstract : A hexa‐ peri ‐hexabenzocoronen based diaza[7]helicene was synthesized featuring a wide lateral π‐extension of the inner helix. This was guaranteed by hybridization with two naphthaleneimide moieties. The helical superstructure was formed as the only isomer during final Scholl oxidation with remarkable selectivity. Successful separation of the enantiomers allowed for the detailed analysis of the chemical, optical and chiroptical properties, which were supported by quantum mechanical calculations.
