Abstract

Abstract : ( Birth . 2020;47:67–79) Previous evidence suggests that working during pregnancy is not associated with adverse outcomes; however, standing, heavy lifting, or unusual workloads may increase risks of complications. In Japan, the number of pregnant workers has increased, and time working is ∼20% longer than in some European countries. There is conflicting evidence as to whether or not shift work increases rates of adverse pregnancy outcomes. This study aimed to assess the relationship between working hours during pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes in Japan.
