Abstract

Abstract : ( J Clin Anesth . 2020;63:109781) Within the UK, operative vaginal delivery rates are estimated at between 10% and 13% of deliveries, which accounts for an ∼85, 000 births in 2018 within England and Wales. The US, by contrast, estimates a 3% rate, which is ∼115, 000 births in 2018. The primary goal of this study was to investigate the patient recovery for both types of vaginal deliveries, to determine whether postpartum treatment of these patients ought to be individualized due to labor type or remain more universal for all deliveries as it currently exists. Authors hypothesized that a spontaneous vaginal delivery would yield a better recovery when compared with an operative vaginal delivery.
