Abstract

Abstract: We report the case of a patient in whom we used deep cerebral venous blood flow monitoring by transcranial Doppler ultrasonography to monitor the effect of anticoagulation therapy on cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. The blood flow velocity of deep cerebral veins increased in the early stage of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, then gradually decreased to the normal level as the disease improved. Moreover, the recovery of the blood flow velocity of deep cerebral veins occurred earlier than the morphological recovery demonstrated by magnetic resonance venography.
