Abstract

Abstract : Helical Molecular Orbitals—Hel‐MOs— have been tailored theoretically through the torsion angle of diphenylbutadiynes. Experimentally, suitable conformations have been locked by the synthesis of cyclic spirobifluorenes. In addition to present distinct Hel‐MOs, the developed systems are robust and feature remarkable, photophysical and chiroptical responses. Therefore, the present study may lead to integration of such derivatives in chiroptical and spintronic applications. For more information, see the Communication by L.
