Abstract

Abstract: In order to better explore the characteristics of the spatiotemporal changes of cultivated land, this paper comprehensively considers the utilization change of cultivated land in the Pearl River Delta from the multiple dimensions of the dynamic degree of cultivated land quantity change, location entropy, flow change, relative change rate of utilization, center of gravity, spatial characteristics of change rate, etc. from 2000 to 2014, in order to manage land use better and provide references for the protection of cultivated land, food security and sustainable use of land resources. The results show that the cultivated land and per capita cultivated land area in the Pearl River Delta region both showed a rapid decline and decreasing trend at the beginning, and then gradually eased. The degree of arable land use continues to increase and has developed from extensive to intensive. From the perspective of space, the rapid economic development areas such as Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan and Zhongshan have suffered serious loss of cultivated land. The demand for various types of construction land is constantly expanding. The adjustment of agricultural structure has exacerbated the non-agriculturalization of cultivated land. On the whole, the use of cultivated land in the Pearl River Delta has a tendency toward the south.
