- Abstract: Precast structures are the assembly of structural components which are fabricated off-site and then connected on-site. To utilize the benefits of precast construction method there is a necessity for research and standardization. The present study purpose is to investigate the behaviour of precast beam-column joint with two types of dry mechanical connections and two types of wet connections using ABAQUS software. Five frame models consisting of two mechanical dry connections, two wet connection and a monolithic connection were analyzed using ABAQUS software. The primary test variables were the type of connection, use of cleat angles, use of dowel bars, use of fibre reinforced concrete. Basic concrete tests were conducted for M30 grade concrete and M40 grade fibre reinforced concrete. M30 grade concrete was considered for monolithic and precast elements, M40 grade fibre reinforced concrete consists of GGBS as a partial replacement of cement content and the fibres used are Alkali Resistant Glass Fibers, this concrete is considered for wet concrete connection.
