- Abstract: A solid-state laser based on yttrium-stabilized zirconia crystals (86 mol% ZrO2 –13.6 mol% Y2 O3 –0.4 mol% Ho2 O3 ) and pumped by a thulium fiber laser at a wavelength of 1907 nm was developed. The maximum output power of 8.8 W was achieved, with a slope efficiency of 46% for continuous-wave operation. 2 µ m Q -switched operation of the laser at repetition rates of 1 kHz and 10 kHz was demonstrated.
