- Abstract: Selective Inhibition Sintering (SIS) is one among the emergent Layered Manufacturing (LM) technology, wherein fully functional models can be produced directly from the CAD template. The key challenge of this process to meet the industry requirements is to select appropriate process parameters to attain desired dimension for different models. This study considers layer thickness, heater power and heater feed rate as candidate factors to optimize using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Parts fabricated by inhibition sintering will be subjected to mechanical testing to verify the outcomes. Experiments were carried out for various parameters combinations using RSM. Further, analysis studies are carried out to evaluate the influence of these parameters on accuracy. The results from these studies are validated so as to enable fabrication of parts with satisfactory strength.
