Abstract

Abstract: The research is performed keeping in view the possibility to contribute in the area of bamboo craft practiced in rural or semi‐urban clusters in Betul district of the state of Madhya Pradesh, by enhancing the social and economic condition of the craft clusters and the crafts persons and the geographical importance of the region. The methodology applied is mostly qualitative and naturalistic in nature. The problems in the rural craft sector were mapped. Focus group discussion and brainstorming process were conducted to generate ideas. The ideas or rather the systems were then validated and consolidated by application of transformation techniques or removal of mental blocks. The study outcome makes craft management more effective, professionalized, organized, and sustainable for long term. The strategized model soaks in the traditional culture of the crafts persons and integrates education, entrepreneurship, production, and marketing providing an ideal base for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). It is a combination of systems which are replicable in other places of the country.
