- Abstract : Highly efficient utilization of waste H2 S by obtaining H2 and Na2 S2 O3 species was implemented through photocatalytic technology in the Na2 SO3 solution over novel Ca–CdS nanocrystals. Abstract : Alkaline-earth metal Ca 2+ modified CdS nanocrystals have been designed for the first time for highly efficient H2 evolution from hydrogen sulfide (H2 S) with Na2 SO3 as a favourable reaction medium. The advantage of Na2 SO3 was revealed by an electrochemical test, and the conversion of Na2 SO3 during the reaction was carefully studied. Particularly, most of Na2 SO3 was converted into Na2 S2 O3 . Highly value-added utilization of waste H2 S is therefore achieved via photocatalysis.
