- Highlights: RAP mixed with recycling agents can be used to replace a classical aggregate layer. In terms of rutting, all the experimental sectors performed satisfactorily. The strains increased before the first micro-cracks appeared on the surface. Similar behavior for the sector made with RAP and the classical sector. The structural performances of all the experimental pavements are ''exceptional''. Abstract: The study focuses on implementing the reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) recycling method on a classical road pavement, by totally replacing the base course with one made with reclaimed materials. For this purpose, four flexible pavements were constructed, instrumented and tested on an accelerated pavement testing (APT) facility, while capturing the structural condition. The contribution of each structural layer to the total rut depth and the variations of maximum strains were determined. The APT provided reasonable results that reinforce the potentially promising considerations of implementing the RAP recycling method in the perspective of the future development of the road networks.
