- Highlights: Analysis of power dynamics within patron-client relations in fisheries. Trading and labour relations are examples of reciprocal patron-client relations. Fishers have agency through access to sources of power to gain better conditions. Changing ecological and socio-economic conditions generate a fluidity of power.
