Abstract: In this paper, a rhodium-catalyzed reaction of 2-arylquinazolin-4-ones with acrylates is described, leading to pyrrolo[2, 1- b ]quinazolin-9(1 H )-one derivatives with high efficiency and good tolerance of functional groups. In the reactions, it is believed that tandem C–H activation and aza-Michael addition are involved. Graphical abstract:
