- Abstract: In the present work, the series of copper doped Mg-Mn ferrite nanoparticles, Mg0.9 Mn0.1 Cux Fe2-x O4 (x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2), have been first time prepared by using technique of solution combustion. A synthesized sample was characterized by scanning electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction. The copper content substitution has resulted an increase in size of particle (31.63–48.49 nm) as well as lattice parameter (8.38–8.42 Å). The method of X-ray diffraction was utilized for investigating cations distribution of interstitial sites (tetrahedral and octahedral). The attained information of distribution of cations was then utilized to explore the various parameters related to structure like ionic radii at A and B sites, theoretical lattice and oxygen positional parameters and bond lengths and angles. The estimated values of bond angles and inter-ionic distances have suggested a decrease in super exchange interactions with copper doping content in magnesium-manganese ferrite nanoparticle matrix.
