- Abstract: Despite the multiple advantages of externally bonded Fibre Reinforced Polymers (FRP) to strengthen and repair concrete structures, this technology presents a premature failure in the interface between the reinforcement and the support which impedes the full usage the of materiaĺs properties. In order to delay or to prevent this premature failure, several anchorage techniques have been developed, among which FRP anchors stand out as they have been found to considerably enhance the bond strength between the reinforcement and the support. Nevertheless, the use of FRP anchors in rehabilitation projects is still subject to tests demonstrating their proper functioning since the existing design guidelines do not specifically include guidance on the design of FRP anchors. This paper presents an empirical model to estimate CFRP anchored joint́s strength based on the results of an experimental campaign conducted by the authors together with the ones existing on literature for single shear tests on CFRP anchored sheets in concrete substrates.
