- Abstract: Background: This review comprises a technology overview, clinical background, and applications of high‐intensity focused electromagnetic technology (HIFEM). Methods: The physiology, mechanism of action, and dynamics of HIFEM will be discussed and its action on muscle fibers and fat elucidated. Results: Clinical applications, body areas treated, and treatment parameters will be reviewed. Conclusion: Efficacy and safety results from multiple studies will be included.
