- Abstract : Enforcement of selectivity through a combination of electrochemistry and substrate design enabled the biomimetic synthesis of the economically important opium alkaloid (−)‐thebaine. In their Communication on page 11055 ff., T. Opatz and co‐workers present a regio‐ and diastereoselective anodic coupling of 3′, 4′, 5′‐trioxygenated laudanosine derivatives, thereby helping to overcome a long‐standing electrosynthetic challenge.
