- Abstract : Single‐crystal electron paramagnetic resonance studies of a ferromagnetic copper(II) triangle were combined with ab initio calculations, and analyzed through a detailed multispin Hamiltonian to explain the origins of the ground state ferromagnetism and anisotropy. This combined analysis demonstrated that the symmetry of the magnetic orbitals is responsible for the observed ferromagnetism, and highlighted the role of dipolar interactions and anisotropic exchange in inducing magnetic anisotropy.
