- KEY POINTS: Intraprocedural catastrophes during transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) are associated with a high mortality. Even "operable patients" can suddenly be deemed inoperable during an intraprocedural TAVR complication. The low incidence of a major complication prevents "crowd learning"; consequently, a high‐volume TAVR center will have the greatest capability for a robust salvage response.
