Abstract:: Graphical abstract: Abstract: An electrophilic bromine catalyzed skeletal rearrangement of an Δ4-oxocene to an epoxy furan has been described. This skeletal rearrangement suggests a plausible mechanism for the biosynthesis of the C15-acetogenin laurepoxide.
