- Graphical abstract: Highlights: The oxidation of sp 3 CH bonds in N- alkylhydrazides was achieved. A series of functionalized 1, 3, 4-oxadiazoles were formed in good yields. The mechanistic study shows that the N- acylhydrazones are a key intermediate. Abstract: The oxidation of sp 3 CH bonds in N- alkylhydrazides was achieved en route to the efficient synthesis of a broad series of 1, 3, 4-oxadiazoles. Mechanistic studies have revealed that N- acylhydrazone is a key intermediate in this catalytic transformation.
