- Abstract : Schematic and transfer properties of a MoS2 FET decorated with Arg or Lys amino acid, thus showing effective electron doping with air stability. Abstract : Surface functionalization of layered transition metal dichalcogenides is of fundamental significance to a wide range of electronic and optoelectronic applications. Here, using density functional theory calculations, the n-type surface functionalization of a MoS2 monolayer using Arg and Lys amino acids was successfully predicted. Air stability and effective electron doping of the system have been demonstrated using Raman spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and the performance of field-effect transistors based on the MoS2 monolayer. The long-term stability in air and reversibly controllable doping properties make Arg and Lys amino acids an attractive option for modulating electronic and optoelectronic devices using a simple and effective route.
