- Abstract : Wide viewing angle is a critical optical specification for liquid crystal displays (LCDs), particularly in automotive displays. We proposed an optimized compensation film which consists of a biaxial positive B film and a negative B film to improve the viewing angle of LCDs with Super Fine TFT (SFT) mode. Under optimized retardations, minimum contrast ratio in area A can tremendously reach 0.59 times of perpendicular contrast ratio which provides excellent viewing characteristics based on German OEM specification.
