Abstract

Abstract : Structural hybridization of bioactive heterocycles is a promising tool to develop new efficient therapeutics for the treatment of various diseases including viral infections. The merging of two differently acting heterocycles—artemisinin and isoquinoline—in one hybrid molecule results in the discovery of a new and potent antiviral agent, which exceeds parent compounds in anti‐HCMV and anti‐HBV activities and is even able to outperform the clinically used drug ganciclovir.
