Abstract

Abstract : Functionalized benzimidazothiazoles were obtained in one step by a Pd‐catalyzed multicomponent carbonylative heterocyclization process, starting from 2‐prop‐2‐ynylsulfanyl‐3 H ‐benzimidazolium salts, CO, a secondary amine, and O2 . The PdI2 /KI‐catalyzed oxidative aminocarbonylation of the terminal triple bond was followed in situ by intramolecular conjugated addition and isomerization to give the final product in fair to good yields.
