- Abstract : Two new silver nanoclusters, formulated as Ag42 (SBu t )24 and Ag61 (SC6 H11 )40 Cl were prepared by a NaSbF6 -mediated two-phase ligand exchange method. A size conversion from Ag42 to Ag61 were achieved via cyclohexanethiol etching. Abstract : A new silver nanocluster, formulated as Ag42 (SBu t )24, was prepared by a NaSbF6 -mediated two-phase ligand exchange method. The total structure adopts a quasi-tetrahedral symmetry with a three-layered tetrahedral ( T d ) Ag10 kernel. Furthermore, with the ligand-etching method, Ag42 (SBu t )24 can be transformed into Ag61 (SC6 H11 )40 Cl, whose kernel structure corresponds to a face-fused bi-tetrahedral Ag14 .
