- Abstract : Cone corrected statistical analysis suggests that the X–P⋯O angle prefers linearity which is more prominent in the case of X3 P⋯O compared to X4 P⋯O pnicogen bonds. This preference also increases with an increase in the electronegativity of X. Abstract : Statistical analysis, after cone correction, on X3 P⋯O and X4 P⋯O pnicogen bonds suggests that the ∠X–P⋯O prefers linearity and the linearity is more prominent in the case of X3 P⋯O. With an increase in the electronegativity of X, the preference for linearity also increases.
