- Abstract : One novel 3D interpenetrated Zn(ii ) CP acts as multi-functional chemosensors in detection of acetone, Fe 3+, Cu 2+, Cr2 O7 2−, CrO4 2− and nitrofurantoin (NFT). Abstract : A new Zn(ii ) coordination polymer, namely, {[Zn2 (BIP)2 (L)]·2H2 O} n (1 ) (H4 L = 5, 5′-(triazole-2, 5-diyl)diisophthalic acid, BIP = 4, 4′-bis(imidazol-1-yl)phenyl) has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopic, elemental and thermogravimetric analyses. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses indicate that CP 1 exhibits a unique 3D two-fold interpenetrated network with a point symbol of {6 4 ·8 2 }. CP 1 displays high sensitivity in the detection of acetone, Fe 3+, Cu 2+, Cr2 O7 2−, CrO4 2− and nitrofurantoin (NFT) in N, N -dimethylformamide (DMF).
