- Abstract : Osteoarticular infections of the chest wall are relatively uncommon in pediatric patients and affect primarily infants and toddlers. Clinical presentation is often vague and nonspecific. Laboratory findings may be unremarkable in osteoarticular chest wall infections and not suggestive of an osteoarticular infection. Causative microbes are frequently identified if specific nucleic acid amplification assays are carried out. In the young pediatric population, there is evidence that Kingella kingae is 1 of the main the main causative pathogens of osteoarticular infections of the chest wall.
